RRASTools Overview

RRASTools extends the functionality of Microsoft RRAS (Routing and Remote Access). RRAS is available as a free download for the NT 4 Server operating system. Win 2000 Server has RRAS included. RRAS is used to connect remote users onto a network with the use of modems. RRASTools adds logging, IP-Pools, limit group access, ISDN control, time access restrictions and multilink controls to RRAS.

These features are applied to local groups. If the user is a member of the group the feature will be applied to them when they log-on. The groups and users can either be stored on the local server or on the primary domain controller. Logging is the exception in that it is not applied to a group. Logging can be performed to an ODBC enabled database or to text files.

Requirements
NT 4 Server with RRAS (Routing and Remote Access) or Windows 2000. RRAS is available free from Microsoft. Hardware suitable for RRAS, as specified by Microsoft.
